Systematic theology is a branch of theology that seeks to understand the teachings and principles of the Christian faith in a systematic and organized way. It involves a strong emphasis on the scriptural basis for each doctrine of the Christian faith, and it seeks to provide clear teaching and explanation of the Biblical doctrines.

One of the key characteristics of systematic theology is its contemporary approach, which means that it treats subjects of special interest to the church today. This can include topics such as contemporary issues, social justice, and current events, and it seeks to apply the principles of the Christian faith to these issues in a relevant and meaningful way.

Another characteristic of systematic theology is its friendly theological tone, which means that it seeks to appeal to the emotions and the spirit as well as the intellect. This involves presenting the teachings of the Christian faith in a way that is accessible and understandable, and that speaks to the hearts and minds of believers.

Finally, systematic theology emphasizes the application of Bible doctrines to life, which means that it seeks to show how the teachings of the Christian faith can be applied in practical ways to our daily lives. This can include topics such as how to live out our faith in the workplace, how to deal with difficult situations, and how to serve others.

Some examples of Bible verses that are relevant to systematic theology include:

2 Timothy 3:16-17, which says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” This verse emphasizes the importance of studying the Bible and using it as a source of guidance and instruction in our lives.

Romans 12:2, which says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” This verse encourages us to seek transformation through the study of the Bible and to use it as a guide for making decisions and living out our faith.

Colossians 3:23-24, which says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” This verse encourages us to serve God with all our heart, and to do everything we do as if we are working for him. It reminds us that our ultimate reward and inheritance come from God, and that we should seek to please him in all that we do.
